Thirty years of alternative dispute resolution has been celebrated in Canberra.
The Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia (IAMA) marked the milestone at its national conference.
The IAMA was set up in 1975 to help resolve building disputes outside the court system.
President Tim Sullivan says over that time the IAMA has helped resolve thousands of disputes, saving millions of dollars.
