Less Heat

MELBOURNE QC Nathan Moshinsky has been hot property since he ducked home early, in October, from his spell in the Solomon Islands as Solicitor-General after the imbroglio there surrounding efforts to extradite another Australian lawyer, Julian Moti.

Having knocked back invitations from organisations as diverse as the ABC and the Italian Lawyers Association, the silk will finally break cover on Tuesday as the special guest speaker at the Institute of Arbitrators & Mediators Christmas Drinks in William Street.

While fierce debate with fellow legal eagles, architects, engineers, project managers and academics on the relative merits of expedited dispute resolution is bound to get hairy, it should nevertheless provide welcome respite after the criminal violence and political intrigues of his previous posting.
