Request for Nomination of a Dispute Resolver

The Institute of Arbitrators & Mediators Australia has a panel of skilled and experienced dispute resolvers covering many commercial areas and professional disciplines. The specialist areas include construction and engineering, law, finance, accounting, information technology, health services, and local government and many others.

Parties are able to select their dispute resolver from the Institute's panel of ADR professionals, or the Institute will nominate a suitable person on request.

The Institute can also assist parties in designing or setting up an appropriate ADR procedure for particular applications. The Institute has available recommended rules and standard contract clauses for facilitating dispute resolution.

Institute Charges

Nomination Fees

Full search and nomination by the President or a Chapter Chairman of a suitable arbitrator or mediator.
Matter over $1,000,000 - $900 + GST $90 = TOTAL: $990
Matter between $100,000 and $999,999 - $500 + GST $50 = TOTAL: $550
Matter under $100,000 - $200 + GST $20 = TOTAL: $220

Trust Account Administration Fees

Trust Fund establishment & operation
where account is less than $3000: $150 + GST $15 = Total $165 (first 10 transactions)
where account is $3000 or more: $200 + GST $20 = Total $220 (first 10 transactions)

Additional Trust Fund Operation

For every ten transactions after the first ten: $150 + GST $15 = TOTAL: $165

List and Searching Fees (non-members only)

Simple Search to find 3-5 suitable arbitrators/mediators to manage a case. A brief resume of each will be provided.
$50 + GST $5 = TOTAL: $55

Complex Search to find up to 3 suitable arbitrators/mediators and check availability, conflict of interest and provide a detailed resume.
$150 + GST $15 = TOTAL: $165

Nominee fee

This fee applies to dispute resolvers who accept formal nominations from the Institute: 10% of preferred fees
